These truths outline the nature of suffering and the path to its cessation:
The Truth of Suffering (Dukkha): Life is inherently unsatisfactory and filled with suffering. This suffering encompasses physical pain, emotional distress, and the general dissatisfaction that arises from impermanence and change.

The Truth of the Cause of Suffering (Samudaya): The cause of suffering is desire or craving (tanha). This craving leads to attachment and clinging to things that are impermanent, which in turn leads to suffering.

The Truth of the Cessation of Suffering (Nirodha): It is possible to end suffering by overcoming desire and attachment. This state is known as Nirvana, a liberation from the cycle of suffering and rebirth.

The Truth of the Path to the Cessation of Suffering (Magga): The way to end suffering is through the Eightfold Path, which consists of right understanding, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration.

This path provides a practical guide to ethical and mental development with the goal of freeing oneself from attachment and achieving enlightenment.
